Solo Work

Here are a variety of recordings that I have made over the years. Some are engineered by local artists in the Humboldt area, and some are raw home recordings. "Be With Me" and "In the End" were engineered by Tim Gray in his studio in Eureka, Ca. It was really great working with Tim. Although a "better", "cleaner" sound is produced from single track recording and overdubbing, he respected my decision to record "live" with my bandmate Alysia in the recording session for HOARFROST! and also when I returned to record two solo songs. Recording live is my preferred style, but I'm not opposed to trying something new, so I included three songs which were engineered by Mike Kapitan in Arcata Ca, a composer and piano player well known for his talents. We recorded my guitar first, then voice. You will notice a much crisper and cleaner sound. We recorded my rock song, "Can't Be Myself", which I hope to re-record with more players and pitch to artists and publishing companies. "Come with Me" is one of my rare "upbeat" songs lyrically, and my last recording with Mike, "My Poor Heart Remains", is another of my "love lamenting" tunes....I included some songs that are dear to my heart in one way or another that I have recorded myself. I am in the process of being able to record better demos at home, but these first rough, raw recordings have their place.........."To the Bone" & "Dusting Off Your Eyes" are songs I am re-recording this winter with pianist Brian Post who has so graciously transcribed them to piano to free up my body and concentrate on the vocals of the song.
